Day 1:Arusha- Mount Kilimanjaro- Machame gate (1490m-2980m)
Depart from Arusha at 0700hrs to Mt. Kilimanjaro/Machame gate. Gentle climb up through the original rain forest, lunch on the way. Arrive late afternoon for dinner and overnight. 6-7hrs walking distance. Meals: Lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Machame Camp- Shira Camp (2980m-3840)
After breakfast climb on top of forest and gentler slopes through moorland zone. Stop over for lunch and rest. After a little rest, climb on to the rocky plateau areas of Shira at 3840m a walk of 6 hrs and a distance of 9.5km. Arrive Shira camp for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3: Shira Camp- Barranco Camp (4630m-3950m)
After breakfast, depart Shira Barranco camp and head into a semi desert and rocky highlands of lava tower. Lunch is served before ascending lava tower 4630m. This is the toughest zone where trekkers will start feeling irritations and difficulties in breathing, a high point of 4600m. Descend down 2 hours 680m to Barranco camp for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4:Barranco Camp- Barafu camp ( 3950m- 4550m)
After breakfast, hike through narrow rocky ridges to Karanga Valley where you have a stop over for lunch. Having hiked 6 hours, Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5: Barafu camp- Mweka campsite
Today we aim to go past Gillman’s Point to reach Stella Point on the crater rim for sunrise another 40 minutes and you are at the highest point on the continent (Kibo:5900m). Ascent of 1,300m and about 7-6 hours trek to the summit; 2,600m descent to the Mweka campsite (3400m) above Mweka gate. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 6:
Mweka campsite- Mweka gate it is a 4 to 5 hours descent through the forest to Mweka gate (depending on individual fitness) to collect certificates and meet the vehicle. Return to Arusha for the night. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.
